Each Sunday night at 5:30, all kids are welcome to come play, eat, and be taught a Bible lesson during our evening services. If you are close by and cannot attend, we can pick your kids up and drop them off for you. Just call our number and leave us a message on our answering machine if your kids need a ride!
Join us Wednesday nights where we share prayer requests and pray over them together. Also, our monthly potlucks have transitioned from the first Wednesday to the first Sunday afternoon of each month, so come hungry for some good food and some good lessons from God's Word!
You never truly realize how much stuff you accumulate until you start packing up to move. It is absolutely ridiculous how many “things” we can store in this tiny parsonage! Before we start packing up all of our possessions, I decided I should probably do some decluttering first. I went through cabinets and drawers full of bath products, expired medications, and holey socks. I threw out items we never used and donated clothes we never wore. It was amazing to me how many things I found in our house that served no purpose other than taking up space. I felt much better after decluttering and reorganizing our home. It was such a weight lifted off of my shoulders, knowing that the things we will be packing up to take to our new home are actually going to be useful to us.
One of my favorite projects that I tackled was creating a memory box for Zack and me. This box contains souvenirs from trips we have taken, letters we wrote to each other when we dated, and mementos from our wedding day. I loved sorting through and remembering all of the special times we have shared together over the years. It is astonishing how many memories can be collected over such a short period of time, and I know that the items in this box will always hold a dear place in my heart. No matter how much decluttering I do, I know that this box will be one that I never throw away.
As I thought about the work that I have done preparing our house for our move, I got to thinking about the work that I should also be doing in my heart. How often do I allow the things of this world to distract me from the purposes that God has for my life? Are there piles of clutter in my heart, weighing me down and hindering my walk with the Lord? Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “Let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.” When we are caught up in worldly desires, it is like we are trying to run with weights strapped to our ankles. Our walk with God is directly impacted by our greed, pride, lies, and envy; therefore, we must take inventory of the things that reside in our hearts. Are we storing up precious treasures such as reminders of God’s faithfulness or memory verses from the Bible? Proverbs 27:19 says, “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.” Our actions represent what is hidden within our hearts. Is your heart cluttered with bitterness and anger? Or is it filled with the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit? Let’s search our hearts today and make room for the invaluable treasures of God.
We love to welcome new visitors, so feel free to come fellowship with us.
